Let me draw your attention to the Shell London Lecture Series - "Geology in the Age of Man" organised by The Geological Society. The series of free lectures over the coming year aim to introduce geoscience and its relevance to society to a diverse public audience. The talks look at various topics ranging from climate change, ground engineering, groundwater sustainability, volcanoes, pollutants and human health, renewable energy and much more.
